This bold piece combines two of my passions: books and jewelry. A delicate little fiber art book with wood covers nestles into a wrap-style necklace/bracelet.
The book part is the 'Tour': ink-on-linen sketches drawn from a 1984 sketchbook I created on a trip to Italy, with abstracted city and landscape views combined with fiber collage.
The wrap-style necklace/bracelet part mixes waxed turquoise-colored polyester cord with gemstone beads in red jasper, moss agate, aventurine, hematite, snowflake obsidian, chalcedony, and unakite, with an antler toggle button clasp.
The book can be worn closed and tied with its accent cords, or flared open to show its pages.
